Your first destination is the captivating Rincon de La Vieja Volcano Area, where the next two nights will be filled with exploration and natural wonders.
Rincon de la Vieja, established as a National Park by Law No. 5398 on October 23, 1973, spans an impressive 14,300 hectares. The park is divided into two tourist visitation sectors: Las Pailas and Santa María. Both sectors offer captivating attractions, showcasing a diverse range of ecosystems and highlighting the volcanic manifestations that make this area truly unique.
This National Park plays a vital role in preserving crucial hydrographic basins, serving as the watershed between the Caribbean and the Pacific in the northwest region of the country. It’s the birthplace of 32 rivers, including the Colorado, Blanco, and Ahogados. Additionally, Rincon de la Vieja is home to the largest wild population of the guaria morada, the national flower of Costa Rica.

Day 3: Rincón de la Vieja - La Fortuna
Embark on a day of exploration with an early breakfast at the hotel. Your guide will lead the way to the La Fortuna Arenal Volcano area, your home for the next two nights. Along the journey, make a stop for a invigorating hike at Tenorio National Park, where the enchanting Rio Celeste awaits.
As you continue towards your accommodation, whether it’s Arenal Kioro or a similar delightful stay, our guide will assist you with the check-in process. After settling in, savor a delicious dinner at the recommended Selva Tropical Restaurant. Let the day’s discoveries set the stage for a memorable evening in the heart of the Arenal Volcano region.
Day 4: La Fortuna
Embrace the day with an exciting walk at the Arenal Volcano National Park, offering breathtaking views of our country’s imposing and unique volcano with its iconic conical shape. Follow our knowledgeable guide through the forest, where you may be fortunate enough to spot various bird species and perhaps even a snake.
Post-walk, venture to the mesmerizing La Fortuna Waterfall, a natural wonder surrounded by lush greenery. Be prepared for an invigorating stroll of around 570 steps, rewarded by the awe-inspiring beauty of the waterfall. Return to the hotel for a relaxing afternoon at the hot springs, rejuvenating in the warm waters.
For those seeking an extra adventure, there’s an optional stop on the way to the waterfall to visit the hot water river. If you choose this option, remember to pack your swimwear in advance. Day 5: La Fortuna-Monteverde

In the late afternoon, around 17:30, gear up for a unique adventure – a night walk tour. Immerse yourself in the nocturnal wonders of Monteverde, discovering the vibrant nightlife of its flora and fauna. After this enchanting experience, savor a delightful dinner before returning to the comfort of your hotel. Embrace the magical ambiance of Monteverde under the veil of the night sky.
Day 7: Monteverde - Playa Carrillo
Start your day with an early breakfast, gearing up for a journey to the picturesque province of Guanacaste, known for its rich folklore and as the birthplace of sabaneros (cowboys). Your home for the next three nights will be in the north Pacific region of our country, offering a delightful blend of culture and natural beauty.
As we travel towards the hotel, enjoy scenic stops along the way to relish the views and explore local fruit stands showcasing the region’s flavors. Upon reaching the destination, check in at the Hotel Nammbu Beachfront Bungalows or a similar delightful accommodation. The afternoon is yours to unwind and explore at your leisure.

Day 8: Playa Carrillo Area

Take advantage of the opportunity to explore the surroundings, engage in optional activities, or simply unwind with the soothing sounds of the ocean. As the day gently unfolds, consider venturing into the local area or embracing the tranquility of the hotel and beach.
For dinner, relish the freedom to choose your preferred dining experience, whether it’s a quiet beachside meal or a culinary adventure in the local area. Enjoy the flexibility and leisure of your day in the beautiful province of Guanacaste.
Day 9: Playa Carrillo Area
Embark on a delightful day starting with breakfast at the hotel. The adventure begins as we head to the Ortega de Santa Cruz area for an enriching boat tour along the Tempisque River, offering glimpses of diverse wildlife in their natural habitat. Following the tour, indulge in a delicious typical lunch, savoring the flavors of the region.
Post-lunch, our journey continues to Guaitil, known as the cradle town of Chorotega Pottery. Immerse yourself in the unique pottery style of the Guanacaste area and even try your hand at crafting a piece of clay. After this engaging experience, we’ll return to the hotel.
Day 10: Departure Day
As your journey comes to a close, start the day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Following breakfast, make preparations for your departure, and our team will ensure a timely transfer to the airport. The hotel departure time will be coordinated based on your flight schedule.
On the way to the airport, we’ll make a final stop at a souvenir shop, offering you the opportunity to collect mementos, including coffee and more, to cherish memories of your time in Costa Rica.
