From July to October one of the most incredible spectacles of nature takes place; the humpback whale climbs to the rock formation that resembles the tail of a whale to carry out the reproductive cycle. Humpback whale sightings occur during the July-November seasons and resident dolphins year-round.
This place was the first marine park in Costa Rica and Central America, the first protected area that was created exclusively for marine resources.Its marine surface is 5,160 ha and 171 ha on land, it also has a 15 km long coastline.
