Los Quetzales National Park
The exuberant nature reaches its full splendor in the cloudy montane and oak forests. No less impressive is the tall dwarf forests and subalpine moors that the park protects. It is located in the Copey district, Dota canton, San José province, 76.5 kilometers south of the capital. It is a special area for bird watching, such as the Quetzal.
It is undoubtedly one of the most outstanding species due to its abundance in the area.
In addition, the park is located at the head of the Savegre river basin. an aquifer catchment and feeding area. It is bordered to the north by the La Amistad-Pacific Conservation Area (separated by the Pan-American Highway), and to the northwest by the Cerro Las Vueltas Biological Reserve. At one end it borders the Pirris River basin and the Reventazón – Parismina River basin.

- Inside the park, both in the vehicular parking area, bathrooms and trails, you are not allowed to smoke.
