PRUSIA - IRAZÚ VOLCANO AREA

Cartago is a province that has many options to go sightseeing: visit its volcanoes, appreciate its viewpoints and discover places that hold important events in the country.

One of the attractions of the forest is the famous “haunted tree”.

The representatives of the forest told us that the name is due to the fact that once one of the visitors left a figure of a “witch” dangling and later the other people followed the custom of placing other objects, although today the tree does not preserve them and it is totally clean.

In addition, that the tree due to its characteristics keeps a mystical aspect.

To get to and get to know this tree, you must take the El Roble trail, continue along the El Puma trail and finally the Los Abuelos trail.

It is important that when entering the park you take a picture of the map so that you can continue to be guided throughout the tour.

Here you can visit other attractions such as: Cerro Retes, one of the highest points where you can see the slopes of the Irazú volcano. On the other hand, there is Cerro Cabeza de Vaca that has a view of the Barva volcano, Laguna del Reventado, among others. Pay close attention because during the tour you may be lucky enough to see fauna such as: endemic birds, the gray fox, coyotes, coatis, tolomucos, porcupines, among others.

In addition to letting yourself be captivated by a vegetation full of eucalyptus, pine and other species of trees.
